Well it’s officially fall now. And today it was 80 degrees. LOL. You just never know what the weather is going to be. It’s still quite chilly at night though so to me it still feels like fall.
The Deerfield Fair is this upcoming weekend and we plan on going on Saturday. It’s been years since I’ve been there – at least 7 years! And this time I’ll be going with my wonderful husband and 2 beautiful children. I can’t wait. I’ve been telling Nathan all about the many animals that will be there (not to mention the rides!) and he is quite excited as well. He is very intrigued by the fact that they have pumpkins so large they are the same size as him or even bigger. (His favorite thing now is these 2 baby pumpkins we bought for him from the grocery store.)
Emily is 10 months old now. My little girl just gets cuter and cuter. She is crawling now, not very fast yet, but she is getting better every day. Today for the first time, she pulled up several times. I went into her room to get her up from her nap and she was standing up and squealing. Then later she pulled up onto the couch a few different times. Emily also walked along the couch this evening – just for about a foot or so, but she did it! Nathan was on one side with a sheet of stickers that she wanted, so she held onto the couch and moved over there! I was so proud of her. She is also cutting tooth #4! Her first tooth arrived at 8 months of age, tooth #2 poked through a couple weeks ago when we were in North Carolina, tooth #3 cut through this past weekend, and I can just barely see #4! So she will have her bottom 2 teeth and top 2 teeth.
She says “Mama,” “Dada,” on occasion “Na Na” (for Nathan), “I love you” (sounds more like “A Uv Ou” – so precious!) and “ba” for ball, and “OO!” for “no.” I can’t believe how fast she is growing up. I just love her so much.
And my Nathan is doing wonderfully. We started K-4 (preschool) last week. He was quite fascinated by Mommy being the teacher. It’s been going very well and he is very enthusiastic about learning. I am so happy.
Teaching has never been my best attribute, but I know that homeschooling Nathan for at least this year was the right decision. I am taking it one year at a time, one day at a time for that matter, and with the Lord’s help, I know I will do a great job.
