First I wanted to say thank you to all of you! You have been so wonderful & supportive & it means a lot to Nate & me. Please continue to uplift us in prayer. I really feel your prayers & I am so peaceful and calm about all of this as I know we rest in the Lord’s will.
I went in for blood work yesterday around noon. The results should be in sometime this afternoon. The nurse told me to call the on-call doctor today and they would give them to me. (I didn’t you know could do that, but she said it was fine. And I’m not going to argue, I’d much rather get the results today than wait until Monday!) So anyways, please continue to pray that things are going well.
This initial beta (pregnancy hormone level) number does not mean a whole lot by itself. Basically it will confirm – by bloodwork – that I am indeed pregnant and give us a number as to *how* pregnant. That can be really subjective though – there is an extremely wide range of normal for this number. So again this first number won’t mean a whole lot.
What is important is the second, repeat beta number. The nurse is going to call me on Monday to discuss the results and most likely have me come in for a follow up blood test. This is the number that will tell us how well this baby is growing. They want to see the beta number double every 48 hours. So that’s what we are hoping & praying for.
At this point, I feel very confident that everything is going well. I took a couple more pregnancy tests last night and they are noticeably darker than the tests I took on Thursday night (24 hours before.) That is GREAT news. I can just feel God’s hand at work here.
Here’s an example – the first test was taken on Thursday night. The 2nd test was from last night. The “test” line (the line that says if you are pregnant or not) is on the LEFT side. The control line (the line that always appears regardless of pregnancy) is on the right.
You can see that the test line (left line) on the bottom test is now getting darker than the control line! Again that’s GREAT and I’m so happy!
I will update later with the results. Thanks again for your support and please continue to pray!
