Here’s a couple of Emily-funnies:
~For Thanksgiving dinner, Emily refused to eat anything but the green lime 7-up jello dish I made. She loves her jello. She finished her plate and then started looking around. She noticed Daddy’s plate of 7up jello and started reaching for it, saying “Oooooh!” Daddy saw her and moved his plate away just in time. Emily of course looked very sad and asked pitifully “Whhhyyy?” (she doesn’t just ask “why?” – it’s a long drawn out “Whhhhyyyy?” It’s hard to picture, but it’s really funny.) Then at the same time, Nathan (who also really likes 7up Jello) noticed Daddy’s plate and started reaching for it. Poor Daddy! I was sitting on the other side laughing and laughing.
~ The next day, we tried to get Emily to eat some mashed potatoes. I have this delicious family recipe for Cottage Cheese Mashed Potatoes – they are amazing. I popped a spoonful into Emily’s mouth and ooh the reaction! You would have thought we were torturing her! First the look of complete shock, then the hurt, and then the indigination. How dare we consider putting food in her mouth?! She cried giant crocodile tears for 20 minutes straight. I’m not kidding.
~ Here’s a video I found today while I was going through some photos. This is from October when my dad was visiting. We went up north to a place called Polar Caves. They have a small pond and a bunch of ducks you can feed. Emily LOVES birds and was terribly excited, but also nervous…:
