The weather is bad here today. I am so thankful Nate arrived home safely from work last night.
There’s pure ice everywhere. I heard a crash last night when I was just starting to fall asleep. It turns out it was a HUGE branch from our neighbor’s Willow tree falling right smack in between our van and car. Nate and I were so amazed that there was no damage to the cars – that was truly the Lord.
We have power thankfully, but according to the latest news report, close to 400,000 people & businesses in the state do not. And it could get worse as it’s supposed to get really windy later today.
Nate had planned to start working on his car, but when he went outside, it was sleeting & the ground was just covered in ice & slush. There was no way he could have done it. (We don’t have a garage.) Tomorrow is supposed to be clear but cold – high of 22 degrees. But as Nate said – he’d rather take the cold than ice & wet.
We’re staying in today. I had originally hoped we might head to Walmart to pick up some photos & frames for Christmas, but it’s not safe out there. So we are decorating our Christmas tree today! Yes, 13 days before Christmas! I don’t think we’ve ever done it this late. Between Nate’s car & my awful headaches, we just didn’t get around to it last weekend. I’m taking a break now while I wait for Nate to help me put the tinsel on the tree. I love this time of year!
