I had a lot of contractions yesterday evening/last night and I was so sore when I got up this morning. I started the morning out in a ton of pain. I was not doing well.
As I told Nate this past weekend – I feel like saying to God “Please give me the strength to get through these last couple of weeks or get him (Joshua) OUT!”
I had my 36 week checkup this afternoon and thankfully I have a great understanding doctor. She asked me how I was doing and I told her I was exhausted and in a ton of pain. I mentioned that Tylenol wasn’t doing anything and she asked me what meds I took after my c-section – percocet, vicodin, etc. And she offered to give me a prescription. Well those are a little stronger than I’d like (at this point anyways) – they are heavy duty narcotics after all and I do have 2 kids to chase after, so we decided on Tylenol with Codeine. And if that doesn’t help, I’m to call back – or tell her when I see her next Tuesday – and she will get me the stronger stuff. Isn’t that great?
So I am home and I took my first dose 1/2 hour ago. I’m really hoping & praying that it helps and I think it will as I generally respond pretty well to that kind of thing. I now feel like I can muster the strength to get through the next three weeks. I can deal with contractions and general aches and pains. But that awful never-ending pelvic/PBS pain where I can barely put one foot in front of the other was getting beyond my threshold of tolerance.
So thank You, Lord, for that bit of relief!
And speaking of the time remaining, we are exactly three weeks away from my scheduled c-section today! Less than a month to go at the very most.
I also managed to stumble my way through Target after seeing the doctor so I could get some bins I wanted for some last minute baby-stuff-organizing. It was quite painful to walk through the store but I wanted those bins in a bad way and that was not something I could send Nate to the store with a list for as I wasn’t exactly sure what I was looking for. But I did it and I am very happy with what I found. Tomorrow I plan on having fun getting the last few things put away. Yay!
The boys’ closet is finished! If I get a chance -and remember to bring the camera upstairs with me – I will take pictures to share. Nate finished installing the shelving, the lighting, and the last few little things like the light switch the past couple days and it looks great. I am definitely resting easier now that it is done!
