Joshua is 2 months old today! Happy 2 Months, my sweet baby!
He is huge! He weighed 15 lb 7 oz and measured 24.75″ this morning. I have a baby scale, so that is an accurate weight too. Yikes!
Joshua is a very happy baby, except for when he’s in the car seat. Poor little guy does not like it. And he had to endure it for quite a long time the past 2 days. Nate’s car broke down at work (again) and we had to go get him Friday and then drive back down yesterday to pick up his car after it was repaired at a nearby garage. That’s an hour drive each way. Poor Joshua! He always falls asleep but at some point he wakes up and must realize where he is and quickly becomes very angry and screams. Fun stuff!
He’s sleeping great at night. His regular (as in the past 2 weeks) routine is to sleep from 7 pm until 5 am straight. Sometimes he’ll stir around 4 am, but I usually get another 1-2 hours from him by popping his binky in his mouth.
That’s pretty good for just 2 months old! I am very blessed!
Joshua is smiling more every day. His favorite thing is to still smile at the ceiling light/fan in our living room, but he is starting to smile at me, Nate, and the kids more often too. He’s so cute.
He’s also started attempting to reach for toys on his play gym. I can’t believe how fast he is growing & learning new things.
On a different note, please pray for us as Nate left this morning for a 2 week business trip to New Mexico. It will be a long 2 weeks, but we’ll manage. Somehow, right? 😉
Here’s a crazy thing I realized last night: Nate left today – the day Joshua turned 2 months. When Nathan was exactly 2 months (to the day), Nate left for a 4 month training routine for the Air Force. I asked Nate what was up with him leaving for extended periods when his boys turn 2 months? Of course this 2 weeks is a much shorter time than when Nathan was little, but I still thought it was a funny coincidence.
I also have to share a recent “funny” from Nathan.
Yesterday Nate was telling the kids how he had to leave. (Nathan immediately showed US where New Mexico was located on his map – I tell you the boy is a genius with geology – I have never once told him where that state is, yet he pointed it out within a couple seconds of hearing where Daddy was going!)
So Nate tells the kids he’s going on a trip.
Then Nathan announces: “I’m going on a trip too.”
Nate: “Really? Where?”
Nathan: “I’m going to Mount Saint Helen’s. On the 21 day in August.”
Nate: “Ohhh… who are you going with?”
Nathan: “Grandpa” (my dad & Nathan share a lot of interests in things out west, etc.)
“And we are going to Texas and then Florida and then back to New Hampshire too.”
Then Emily chimed in ” I go too!” And she pointed to Nevada (a pink colored state on the map. Of course, the girl loves pink.)
Nate laughed and asked if she was going to Las Vegas.
Emily: “Yes, I go to ‘as ‘egas!”
This morning, Nathan informed me that his trip had been changed and he was supposed to leave today. He told me he needed me to take him to the airport. I laughed and said “ok” and went back to doing the dishes. Nathan said “No, Mom, really. My plane is going to leave. You need to take me to the airport. I need to go to Manchester now!”
He was serious. LOL.
Back to our little Joshua….
Here’s some pictures from the past few days:
We pulled out the highchair this weekend – not that we’ll actually use it for eating anytime soon, but it’s nice for Joshua to sit in when we’re all in the kitchen. He wasn’t too sure about it at first, but he was so cute in it:
