Joshua, you are getting so big!
*You now weigh 17 pounds 6 ounces and are 25.5 inches long – 100th percentile for both. Your big brother, Nathan, weighed the same at 3 months too so apparently Mommy & Daddy just have chunky adorable baby boys!
*You are wearing 6-9 months clothes now, although a few 3-6 months things still fit.
*You aren’t sleeping as well at night as you were previously so Mommy is pretty tired. She thinks your hernia is bothering you & that’s why you keep waking.
*You smile lots, although the camera interests you now so you often stop smiling as soon as Mommy tries to take a picture.
*You love to “talk” and have long “conversations” with Mom. You coo and “ooh” and “gah” and smile. Mom loves her “Joshua & Mommy” talks!
*You are very good at putting your fist in your mouth now. It’s especially handy during naptime when your binky falls out of your mouth and you can soothe yourself with your fist!
*You try to reach for things now & have even grabbed a rattle.
*You laugh now too. It’s not a full out giggle yet, but you’ve been “chuckling” for over a month now when we tickle your tummy.
*You haven’t rolled over yet, but you are starting to sit up for very brief periods of time (like 3-5 seconds.) With Mom right there of course.
Mom tried to get a posed picture of you smiling today, but you had other plans:
Earlier this week:
Our appointment with the pediatric surgeon to have Joshua’s hernia evaluated is tomorrow at 10 am. Please keep us in your prayers.
I looked up the surgeon and she seems like an excellent doctor with lots of experience. Judging from her picture, she looks like someone who would be caring and compassionate too. All good things as I was ready to go all Mama-bear and flip out if the surgeon was some arrogant prick!
As much as I hate the thought of Joshua needing surgery, I am hoping that they will schedule it soon and we can just get past it and Joshua will feel better.
I’ll try to update as soon as I can tomorrow.
Oh and my partial meltdown last week as evidenced by last Wednesday’s post?
I feel a little better and a little less insane about that whole thing. It was all hormones. Lovely AF, the old witch, whatever you want to call it showed up on Monday. First one after Joshua too, so yeah I’m having a heck of a couple of days. I had to cancel everything on Tuesday (Mom to Mom at church, Nathan’s karate practice) and lay low. Fun, fun, fun, especially when you have a blood clotting issue like me! I’ll leave it at that – you’ve probably already read more than you needed to know. TMI anyone? But I did want to explain why I flipped out. Lovely PMS at its finest. Thank goodness, it’s usually only this bad right after I have a baby!
