Nathan’s at karate and I’ve got about 25 minutes before I have go pick him up, so I thought I’d post briefly.
Nate is taking classes again with the intent on finishing up his engineering degree. At this point, we’re not sure how long it will take, but hopefully we’ll get some idea soon. Regardless, I’m happy he’s getting back into it and I know he is too. It’s a lot more work for him, but it’s something that needs to be done so he can be allowed to reach his full potential and I’m really proud of him. I know he’ll do great too.
It’s a real blessing that he has the GI Bill – we literally don’t have to pay a single dime, not even for books! We found out this week that he was approved for 100% benefits, based on the new post September 11th GI Bill program for active duty members. Nate was on active duty status for 3 years so he qualifies for the full amount. Yippee!
Joshua has been a bit more cranky today and his scalp is a little red and patchy in areas, so I’m cutting out the squash. Maybe he’s just not ready for it. I don’t know, but I definitely don’t want to push him and irritate his system any farther.
Emily has her 3 year checkup tomorrow and I plan on asking the doctor then about Joshua. We might just need to stick to applesauce and avocado for now. Poor Joshua just really wants to eat like the rest of us. He is always trying to grab whatever I’m eating. But unfortunately it’s going to be quite awhile before he can. I knew we were going to have to take things slowly, but it might need to be slowed down even more than before!
I’m just thankful he’s doing better. All these little things are okay and I really think, with time, he’ll outgrow these food sensitivities and be just fine.
We had a fun day yesterday visiting good friends. The kids had a blast and I had a wonderful time talking with my friend. Her littlest one is only 6 weeks old and he’s so tiny (maybe 9 pounds?) compared to Joshua. He’s adorable! It was really funny because her little guy is barely eating 3 ounces at a time and very slowly at that. And at the same time, there’s my 20 pounder sucking down his 8 ounce bottle and screaming when it’s all gone. (He does that almost every time. Once he’s had a minute, then he realizes that maybe he’s not so hungry afterall and it’s ok to be finished. Lol.) Maybe a little in between, guys? Lol.
