I don’t have a whole lot to share today. I’m pretty tired today. I’m not really sure why as I got enough sleep last night, but it comes with being pregnant, I guess. Something about growing another human being can make you feel worn out occasionally. 😉
We had a pretty quiet weekend. I finally got the upstairs picked up yesterday afternoon, with Nate’s help. He even helped me move the kids’ beds and vacuum underneath. I always feel better when I get that done!
Nate’s car had some issues so he had to take it into the garage this morning. One of the struts or something (I’m not very good with car terminology) had broken so it was pretty bad. The Lord was very good because it broke when Nate was just a couple minutes away. He could have been anywhere else on his one hour commute home and then we would have had to deal with getting the car towed and who knows what else. As it was, he was close enough to get home. So thank You, Lord! The garage fixed the car – and even replaced one of the break lines for free! – and Nate’s back home. He ended up just taking a personal day from work, because by the time his car was finished, it would have been too late to go into work. So instead, he’s been home and is working on finishing up a few projects around the house.
I spent the morning doing some cleaning and getting our homeschool area ready in the kitchen. I’ve tried a few different methods this year – in terms of organizing everything – in hopes that things will run a bit smoother/more efficiently. So far, I am happy with it. Of course, there is dust and dirt all over from Nate working on the kitchen door, but that’s ok – it’s worth the mess.
I was supposed to go to an OB appointment this morning, but I canceled it first thing this morning because I wasn’t sure if Nate was going to need to take my van to work. Luckily, my doctor has an opening for tomorrow afternoon, so we just rescheduled. I was surprised as my doctor is pretty popular and hard to get into last minute – I always schedule my appointments with her personally in advance. I had figured I’d just cancel the appointment and see her at my next scheduled checkup in another month. I know it’s not ideal to skip a prenatal appointment, but I also didn’t want to go in in 2 weeks and then have to go just another 2 weeks after that, when everything is going well and I have no concerns. All that being said, I was pretty happy to get in so quickly.
This week is going to go by quickly. Tomorrow – doctor appointment. Wednesday – doctor appointment (Joshua’s 14/15 month checkup). Thursday – Nathan has karate. Friday – Nate has off work and I’m hoping we’ll be able to get together with some friends. I need to call them tomorrow!
Next Monday we start school! Yay!
Joshua is 14 months old today! He is starting to stand on his own more often and is less quick to sit down. He also walked while holding onto just one of my hands today – we were all so excited and clapping that he had to stop and sit down so he could clap too! I just love him!
I’ve off to make dinner – I’m making stir-fry chicken – yum!
