This beautiful couple are my in-laws – Nate’s mom & dad.
They recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. In this day & age, that happens far too rarely. You don’t make it that long just giving 50% (isn’t the other one supposed to make up the other 50%?) as so many people think should happen in marriage. No, you make it to 30+ years by each giving 100%. By putting the other one first. By showing love and respect. I know it wasn’t always sunshine & roses for them – they went through tough times too. But that’s life. And to make it through those less-than-ideal times, to learn & grow instead of giving up shows the true strength & commitment of their marriage.
I am so blessed to have them in my life. To have them in my children’s lives.
I pray that in 21 years from now, Nate & I will be able to look back & know that we followed in their wonderful example of true, lasting, & sacrificial love. And we will be very blessed. Very blessed indeed.
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for being such a testimony, such a legacy for your family. I love you both very much!
Oh and by the way, don’t they look just fabulous?! Especially, my mom-in-law, who’s had six children! Way to go, Mom!
