*You love your play-gym and your bouncy seat with the toy bar. You kick and bounce your bouncy seat very hard sometimes because you are so excited. Mommy has come in more than once and told your siblings to stop bouncing you too hard and they say “Mommy, Lukey is doing it himself!” And sure enough, you are!
Happy 4 Months, our sweet Luke!
*You are 16 pounds 6 ounces today
*You sleep pretty well at night – usually from 7/8 to 6/7 in the morning. You’ve had a bit of a stuffy nose the last couple weeks that wakes you up at night sometimes so you haven’t been sleeping quite as well lately. But you don’t need your bottle at night anymore and easily go 12 hours. Once we get past this little cold, Mommy is sure you’ll go back to sleeping great again.
*You are wearing 3-6 month clothes, but Mommy’s had to put away a couple of the sleepers as you are too tall for them now. It’s almost time to pull out 6-9 months!
*You eat 5-6 oz every 3-4 hours during the day.
*You are such a happy, smiley boy. You are always checking out what everyone is doing and are very curious about everything. No wonder – with 3 older siblings, there’s always something going on!
*You have gotten very good at reaching for and grabbing your toys. You will play and “talk” with them for a long time sometimes. You squeal and get very excited.
*You have discovered your hands this past week and love to fold them together and stare at them. Emily told me “Mommy, Luke is praying with us too!” when you did this one day. It’s so cute.
*You are getting better at your balance and Mommy thinks you will start sitting up soon. You still lean over quite a bit when Mommy sits you up, but it won’t be long now. Mommy also told Daddy it’s time to pull the exersaucer out from the attic.
*When you want to be picked up, you start kicking one leg very hard (never the same leg – you change it) and “talk” louder and louder until someone picks you up. Mommy thinks we will have to put the swing away soon because you kick so hard it almost stops the swing from rocking at times – she thinks you have just about outgrown it!
*You’ve had some more reflux issues lately and Mommy thinks you are outgrowing your Zantac dosage. We’ll see what Dr O says at your 4 month checkup next week. Mommy is still very thankful you are so much easier than Joshua, but she hopes we can get you 100% feeling better soon!
*One of my Mommy’s favorite times of the day is when you snuggle with her in the evening and drift asleep in her arms.
