Nathan & Emily have been talking about having a lemonade stand with their friends for a couple weeks now. Today was the perfect day to have it. The weather was beautiful and the kids hoped there would be a good number of people stopping by.
The kids agreed to charge 25 cents a cup. There was some debate beforehand, primarily because Nathan wanted to do it on a sliding scale (something along the lines of 50 cents the first cup, 25 the next, then 15, then 10). At least it was better than a sign he wrote up a week ago that said “Lemonade for sale – 26 cents. 2 cup FREE!” which Nathan then crossed off and changed to just 26 cents. (I forgot to get a picture of that sign, which I’m kicking myself for – it was hilarious.)
The lemonade stand was a big success. Between the lemonade, and later adding root beer and brownies that I had made last night (which I wanted to get rid of because I do not need Chocolate brownies with peanut butter cream topping and chocolate chips in the house when I am trying to lose weight!), all at 25 cents a piece (a bargain when you consider store & bakery prices these days!), they made about $20 in all!
I have a feeling there’s going to be a lot more lemonade stand action in the near future this summer.
