I never used to think I would be a “boy” mama, but I am, besides my one sweet girly girl.
I have such a special relationship with each of my boys. I do with Emily too – don’t get me wrong – but I guess I never pictured quite how it would be with 3 boys. It’s that mother-son bond that you just can’t describe.
There’s Nathan who is always on the go and constantly thinking of something. If his nose isn’t in a book, he’s wandering around doing string games, or following me, talking about a science experiment he wants to conduct. But he is such a sweetheart. He never forgets to bring me flowers, whether it’s a dandelion, or more recently when he’s taken care to notice what I like – he picks my favorite wild violets and even some of his own petunias just for me.
And heaven forbid Nate should do anything to me. Once in a while, Nate & I will mess around and Nate will grab me and tickle me. Nathan does not approve of this and will immediately jump in telling Dad “Leave my mom alone!” and he holds nothing back when it comes to pulling out a karate move he’s learned – and trust me, he’s getting strong and good. He is very quick to defend me, even when I assure him I’m ok. I have to say it’s something very special we share.
Here’s a couple flowers Nathan brought me yesterday:
And my sweet Joshua, who is almost 2. There are moments when he will just come lay his head on my lap or just put his little arms around my neck and hug me and kiss me. He loves nothing better than to be my good helper too.
Earlier, a moment with my youngest two:
Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten Emily! I’ll do her own post soon.
