Do you do anything special with your children each school year? Do you celebrate with a back to school party or do you keep it simple and include a special note in their lunchbox? As a homeschooling mom, I don’t do anything big with my children, because let’s face it – homeschooling is kind of big just by itself. But we do little things I know the kids appreciate. (Or maybe they don’t, but I do!) I carefully plan our days out ahead of time and the night before our first day of school, I put all the kids to bed early so I can set to work with last minute preparations. I make sure all their books are in their proper spots, new crayons and colored pencils and scissors are in shiny pencil boxes, I add new pictures to the kids’ binders, and put up fun classroom wall decorations, like alphabet charts, the Pledge of Allegiance, and others. The next morning, I get up extra early so I will have time to make a nice breakfast for the kids; usually scrambled eggs or home cooked oatmeal. (I am notgood at making pancakes, ask my family; we leave that to Nate!)
As I was preparing for our new school year, I had fun checking out what Tiny Prints has to offer for Back to School Shopping. They have a lot of great basics and much more, including teacher appreciation cards, notebooks & notepads, photo books, family planners, and even things for teachers like classroom wall art and decor. I particularly liked their Academic Planners. I am definitely keeping Tiny Prints bookmarked for school shopping and I hope you will check out their site too!
