I feel a lot better after our weekend. We didn’t do a lot, but that’s just it – we had some down time and it felt good. Nate helped me with the kids a lot and I really needed that. Joshua is feeling better too and is happier.
I finished a couple things on my to-do list I’ve been wanting to get done for awhile, like sorting through the kids’ clothes in anticipation of upcoming fall sales. I now have a list with exactly what I need for each child. We are blessed to live only 10 minutes away from an outlet center and with no sales tax here in New Hampshire, we get some very good deals. I get outlet quality clothing for Walmart/Target prices, or sometimes even cheaper. With 4 children, it’s worth it to get better quality because they get a lot of wear – especially the boys! It’s still only July (albeit the last day – can you believe it will be August 1st tomorrow?! I hardly can!) but the sales start early and I don’t want to get extras if I don’t need it. Even if I can get shirts for only $4, if the kids didn’t need them, it’s not saving any money, but wasting it. So this year, I am prepared with my trusty list! Not to mention I know exactly where everyone’s clothes are already so when the cooler weather does hit (as it will in September), I can easily find them.
I always feel better when I’m organized.
Nate & I have also been working on finishing up the sanding and painting on my new dining room windows. It’s taken us way too long to finish it, but things just happen and it gets put off. I’m also looking at re-organizing some things in the dining room.
I should really take some more photos of my house and see what you all think in regards to decorating and organizing. I am not a creative person and while I like to be organized, figuring out exactly what my vision is and what I need to accomplish that is tricky.
We have an old house and while it’s not super small, it’s not big either and there’s not much closet space so it’s hard to get it organized to where I want. We have our living room which is nice and carpeted and where the kids like to gravitate to play. For a long time, I let them keep toys in there, but last year, I took all but the baby toys out because I am so tired of it being a multi-purpose room. I want it to be nice and inviting, not taken over with stuff! But anyways, that’s another day.
Tell me – what are your favorite go-to places for organizing supplies? I mean things like organizing your kids’ toys, etc. Is there a certain item you just love and can’t do without?
