Last weekend, my cousin was married and we drove to upstate New York for the wedding. My aunt and uncle live in the Adirondack forest (literally) and it’s beautiful. It’s not that different from where we live in New Hampshire with the trees and mountains (we live in the foothills of the White Mountains), but it’s much more remote.
Here’s some pictures from our trip. (Yes it’s taken me a whole week to get them up – what can I say? I’ve been exhausted and finishing unpacking. Which really shouldn’t take that long as we were only away for 3 days…but everything seems to take longer with four kids…)
There’s a lot of pictures here so consider yourself warned. 😉
From left to right – Joshua, me, Emily and then my dad is holding Luke, his friend Kim, and Nathan. We are on a dock at the lake:
Here I’m trying to keep Joshua from swimming…He was so excited to see “water” and “boats” and then we taught him what a dock was so he kept saying those three words and scaring me as he tripped near the lake. Nate & me – I love this man more than I could ever say! I am so blessed to be married to him!
I haven’t seen a lot of my extended family in awhile so it was wonderful to see them again. Many of them – including my two brothers – have never met my 3 youngest children. But they did last weekend!
I’m the oldest of 4 kids. My brother Matthew is next, then Jonathan, and Kristen is the youngest. I still sometimes call my brothers “little brother” but at 6′ 2-3″ they are far from “little” now!
Here’s the four of us. I think my mom was crying when someone took this photo – it’s been years since we’ve had a picture of all four of us:
We had a wonderful time together.
Here’s my brother Matt with Emily – Emily had a lot of fun with her uncles on this trip.

Even in the middle of the craziness from so many people getting together for a very short time with a wedding involved too, Nathan found the time to get his grandpas and uncles to do “experiments” with him:
The wedding was Saturday evening and the weather was absolutely perfect – my cousin couldn’t have picked a better weekend. Especially as it was an outdoor wedding on the shores of the lake.
Here’s my brother and his girlfriend – aren’t they a cute couple? I heard something about possible wedding bells in the near future for them, so we may be going to another wedding soon! I’m so happy for them. My brother has picked an amazing girl in Cat (short for Caitlin) and it would be wonderful to call her my sister!
Later, we had dinner and then there was dancing. It was awesome to get out and have fun. I haven’t done that in a long time!
The next day – Uncle Jonathan with Nathan & Emily:

Here are all of us cousins – our cousin Kim is the only one missing, she had to head home early for work unfortunately:

It was an amazing weekend. God is so good.
