This post brought to you by DISH. All opinions are 100% mine.
I don’t know about you, but my family is too busy to sit down and watch a live tv show and sit through the amount all those commercials. While we don’t currently have satellite or cable tv, I can tell you one feature we would definitely be trying if we did.
It’s the new Hopper from DISH.
The Hopper is a DVR system that takes the world of recording tv shows to a new level. As you would expect with a DVR, the system allows you to skip ahead of commercials. But Dish makes it even better with the Hopper. There’s AutoHop, where you just click the button and you’re instantly past the commercials of prime time recorded tv from ABC, CBS, FOX, and NB.
The Hopper also lets you record up to 6 different prime time shows at at time and store up to 2,000 hours. Wow! I liked our old DVR system but there were definitely some scheduling conflicts with its limit of recording 2 shows at a time. And space was VERY limited.
But here’s where DISH’s the Hopper really stands out. With the Hopper, you have the ability to watch your shows anywhere you want. Start watching your favorite show on your main tv, then finish watching it on your tablet upstairs later! And yes, you can access your shows away from home too.
Think about those road trips or flights with the kids where you don’t have internet access. You can pack DVDs but choosing from multiple pre-recorded shows on your iPad is so much easier. And you can do that with the Hopper.
There’s two ways: 1) You can download the Dish Anywhere app (both Apple and Android devices) and watch both live and pre-recorded shows, movies, and your (or your husband’s) favorite game. Or 2) Use Hopper Transfers and literally transfer your recorded shows onto your iPad to watch anytime, anywhere (with or without internet access.)
Pretty cool, huh?
It’s great to see a company, like DISH, getting smart about how connected we all are. Really, we have more devices than ever now between our computers, tablets, and smartphones. The Hopper helps eliminate conflict in recording shows and makes it easier to watch them at our convenience.
The Hopper is only available from DISH. You can get it free for 12 months when you sign up with a 24 month commitment. (Packages start at $24.99/month.)
