I think most, if not all, of us have slathered a clay mask onto our faces at one point in order to deep clean our pores, or perhaps hoping to improve the clarity of our skin, but did you know that calcium bentonite clay is a powerful detoxifier? And in addition to helping with skin conditions such as acne, it can also help with eczema, spider veins, warts, cuts bruises, and much more!
I keep running across information about bathing in bentonite clay and how good it is for you. And, of course, I’m always eager to try something new! So I agreed to review Earth’s Living Calcium Bentonite Green Clay Bath Powder without a moment’s hesitation. I was sent a one pound bag of the clay bath, as well as bag of Earth’s Living Lavendar Soak!
Clay baths can also be very beneficial for children, so I decided to have Samuel help me out in testing the clay bath powder. Following the directions, I ran a bath and added about five ounces of clay to the water. For children over 20 pounds, four to six ounces is safe, but for children under 20 pounds, you only want to add four ounces. Once the bath was ready, I plopped Samuel into the tub….and unfortunately, right as I was stepping into the tub myself, he peed in it. 🙁
So, we drained the tub, rinsed it, and started again. Once we were both in, we just sat and soaked….and sang a few rounds of “Old MacDonald,” complete with all the animal sounds. I had to keep him interested in something so that he could get as close to a 10 minute soak as possible! He was very happy in the clay bath and was not bothered by it at all! And while I was in there I soaked my hair in it; I figured it can only help, not hurt!
We both enjoyed our clay bath and plan to repeat it every week in hopes of helping detoxify our bodies. And who knows, maybe it will help with all the bug bites, bruises, and scratches Samuel seems to ALWAYS have on his legs these days!
Admittedly, I decided to try the Lavender Soak by myself! It smells amazing, and French grey salt is reputed to have some amazing healing properties. Pair that with lavender’s antiseptic properties that help with skin conditions, and its ability to relieve muscle aches and pains, as well as remedy headaches, and it was a heavenly way to wind down the night after Samuel went to bed. While I will never have the luxury of a quiet bath every evening (at least not anytime in the near future), I certainly look forward to the evenings I can do so!!
1 lucky winner will receive a one pound bag of Calcium Bentonite Green Clay Bath Powder!
