Emily seems to be doing much better now – Praise the Lord!
Nate was amazing and stayed up with her last night and sent me to bed. He did some work on the computer while he sat with her on the couch. I am so grateful that he let me get some rest. I felt so badly letting him stay up with her when I felt like I should be the one taking care of her, but I knew I was beyond exhausted and needed some rest so I could function & take care of the kids today. And my little Joshua. I was having a lot of braxton hicks contractions last night that were starting to worry me so I didn’t argue for too long. I am so thankful for my thoughtful caring wonderful husband. I know he must be pretty tired today. He said Emily threw up a couple more times after I went to bed, but I think her stomach settled not too long afterwards.
We’ve been up since 7:30/8 am and Emily is running around and acting like normal. She said her tummy isn’t sick anymore and she was hungry. I gave her a sippy cup with water (unfortunately I don’t have any Gatorade/Pedialyte in the house – and no car to get any) and she drank that down rather quickly. Then she wanted cereal & juice for breakfast, so I gave her some plain toast and then some Jello. That was an hour ago and she seems to be fine.
I’m cautiously hopeful that we’re past the worst of it. Em never even developed a fever. Thank the Lord! It really is amazing when you look at how quickly children heal and how much easier some illnesses are on them than adults. She was miserable last night when she was vomiting – poor baby, it broke my heart – but she has bounced back so quickly.
If you read my post last night & prayed for us, thank you. It worked. God is so good.
Please keep praying for continued healing and that our Nathan won’t get it either. Thank you…
