You or may not know about my daughter’s little pink stuffed puppy, known in our household simply as “Puppy.” Read here for a more detailed introduction to Puppy. Simply put, Puppy is extremely important to Emily and they are practically inseparable.
On Friday, Emily lost her puppy. We had friends over and I remembered seeing Puppy at one point because she was showing puppy to their baby. But after that, I couldn’t remember seeing puppy anywhere. I looked everywhere. Inside and outside.
When Nate came home that night, he looked everywhere with me. We looked in drawers, in kitchen cupboards, on the porch outside, in the yard, even in the neighbor’s yard.
Friday night was a long night. Emily went to sleep ok without her puppy, but she woke up many times throughout the night crying. Poor thing.
As for me, not only was I woken many times by her, but I didn’t sleep well because I kept dreaming that we had found and then had not found that darn stuffed dog. *sigh* The things us mothers go through!
Emily surprised me and slept well last night, but still has asked for her puppy many times. (When we had asked her where she put puppy, she took us on quite a hunt – outside, inside, all over. Basically she couldn’t remember either.)
This afternoon, Nathan came in from playing outside at one point and he had found Emily’s puppy! He explained that he found it up on our deck. We never go up there, our yard & house layout is kind of weird and we just don’t use the deck. But apparently Emily did on Friday. (The one place we don’t look! I tell you!)
Yesterday, I went to ebay and bought another one. Thankfully I found a couple people who had this particular puppy for sale because previously I hadn’t been able to find it, even on ebay! This particular version of Gund’s My First Puppy is discontinued and very hard to find. Thank God for ebay! So a new puppy is on the way and that one shall be a backup. Something I should have done a long time ago.
Here is Miss Emily with her beloved puppy safely back in her arms.
Completely separately, it has been hot outside!
Yesterday it reached 88 degrees. Here in central New Hampshire!
That’s unheard of for April weather. In fact, it doesn’t often get that hot here in July.
As for me, I have been a cranky hot mess. I normally love summer, I don’t mind the heat (humidity is another story though.) But now that I’m 8 months pregnant (yes I am officially 32 weeks = 8 months today!), my body temperature has risen so it’s even hotter to me. And I am sweaty and miserable.
Thankfully it’s cooled down somewhat now – I think it’s actually a pleasant 65-70 degrees at the moment. Tomorrow will be cooler, but then Tuesday is supposed to scorching again – 90! Ahhh!
Relief is in sight on Wednesday – back to the 60’s.
That I can handle right now.
But I am really hoping to avoid the 80 degree weather before Joshua comes. After he arrives, the 80’s are more than welcome to come. Lol.
Just not when I’m pregnant please.
Is that asking too much?
