It doesn’t get much cuter than this…
I had a fantastic day today.
I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night (Joshua slept from 7 pm to 1:30 am, but I didn’t go to bed until 11) and then from 2:30 until 6 am. And I’ve been up since then. Given that early hour (and remember I am NOT a morning person – my idea of waking up early is 7:30), I’m really surprised at how great I’m feeling.
I got a ton of housework done today. Laundry, picking up, organizing (yes I organized my living room! It always amazes me how much baby stuff can pile up in such a short time), and actual cleaning – including mopping my kitchen floor & cleaning out the refrigerator. It felt SO good to get that stuff done.
It’s 7:20 pm right now. Emily & Joshua are in bed (Joshua is in his bassinet wrapped up in the miracle blanket sound asleep), Nathan is watching one of his favorite National Geographic shows about Yellowstone. The dishes are done, the kitchen is clean, I gave Joshua a bath with my 2 “helpers” at my side of course, read all 3 kids a Bible story and some other books, and now I am blogging while I wait for Nate to get home from work.
Oh and Emily has gone on her “big girl” potty 3 times today + one #2! I found her sitting on the potty completely voluntarily a couple of times today too – well not that I drag her there – lol – but that she went all by herself without me even reminding her.
I think it was a pretty good day.
Just a few short days ago when I was sitting in the ER having just heard that I should have my gallbladder removed, I began to wonder if I would ever feel like myself again. And yet here I am just a few days later and I am feeling a LOT like myself.
Yesterday, I took Emily out to the grocery store and to my favorite Gymboree outlet store where I bought 35 items of clothing for $155. All summer clothes for Nathan & Emily for next summer. I got some fantastic bargains – shorts for $3.29, shirts for $3.99, and so on. Then we also went to Kohls for a few small things yesterday evening. I just found my new favorite time to shop at Kohls – Sunday evening. NO ONE is there and it was such a nice shopping experience. Anyways… we (all 5 of us) went on a walk around the neighborhood yesterday too.
I’m feeling pretty good. It must be all those prayers. =)
