Here’s a very short update on us because otherwise it’s never going to happen!
I am exhausted.
Nate was supposed to fly home today, after being gone for 2 weeks, but he didn’t. They need him to stay until Thursday. Even that isn’t guaranteed, although he did buy a plane ticket, so I’m cautiously hopeful. I told Nate that I’ve been a very good supportive wife for this whole thing, but I might not be such a “godly wife” come Thursday if he doesn’t come home!
I took the kids to church today, but I barely remember the sermon. I was so tired, I was in that exhausted foggy-state of mind where not much registers. And my arms/shoulder was killing me from holding my 16 pound baby (yes he is 16 pounds now!) for 2 hours straight. He’s too little for the nursery – he would just cry and need I mention how much he hates his carseat? So it was all me. I was almost in tears on the way home.
Homeschooling has gone well and we are adjusting to our new busy routine.
Nathan starts karate classes twice a week now and will also begin soccer soon too. I really don’t need one more thing to do, but Nathan really needs sports to get his energy out, plus socialization, so it’s a must.
In other news, Joshua has a hernia. I am just about 100% positive, I mean it’s kind of hard to mistake. It’s in his groin area, which makes me nervous because that type usually requires corrective surgery. I noticed it on Thursday evening when I was changing his diaper and he was screaming because he was hungry. He is usually really happy and doesn’t mind diaper changes so I honestly have no idea how long it’s been there. I checked the area again later when he was his calm happy self and couldn’t really tell it was there. But when he was screaming, there was no doubt about it. It didn’t seem to bother him at all when I pushed on the area, so that’s good.
I called the doctor on Friday and the nurse, after calling me back at 3:15, asked if I could bring Joshua in for a 4:15 appointment. Um, let’s see – it takes me an hour to get there plus I have a baby sleeping upstairs and two filthy children outside playing in the dirt… hmmm….you tell me if I can make that appointment…. Yeah, not gonna happen.
It wasn’t urgent for me to bring Joshua in immediately but they did want to see him soon, so we have an appointment on Tuesday.
Please pray for my little guy. I know that this is minor, even if he does need surgery, but it’s never easy to hear that something could be wrong with your child, especially your baby. It’s hard not to worry.
Okay, so I really have to get to bed because I am soooo tired right now, but here’s a couple recent pictures:
Oh and this picture – Emily & Nathan got this weird drooping silly putty from Target. And of course, Emily decided to put it in her hair. Thank goodness, I was able to get it out! Nathan & I were laughing so hard!
