Joshua is in surgery now.
They took him back a little later than originally planned – at 7:50 am – so I don’t expect them to finish up for at least another 20 minutes.
Joshua has done really well this morning. We woke him at 5:20 & left. He fussed a little in the car, but eventually fell asleep. Once at the hospital – at 6:30 – he was smiling and happy for the first 20 minutes. He was “talking” to everyone – so cute. Then once they had us change him into a gown, which was so cute on him by the way, he became a little grumpy because after all he was hungry! He did not like it when the nurse tried to put one of those pulse monitor clips on his toe to check his heartrate. He screamed and kicked and eventually the nurse gave up and brought a slightly different one. He still didn’t like that but at least she got it to stay on!
The staff here is really nice. The anesthesiologist & surgeon both came to talk to us and went over everything and the nurses/residents have been wonderful.
I almost burst into tears when the resident took Joshua back, but I know he’s fine.
The Lord is good and I know my little boy is in His hands.
I’ll try to update more later. I don’t think I’ll have a chance until we’re home because once Joshua is out of surgery, I’ll be busy with him. And Nate left his laptop at home, so unfortunately I can’t access the internet quite as easily.
Thanks again for praying.
