A Mom’s Musings

As most parents with more than one child do, we deal with tattling.

I decided to use that to my advantage. When I get the kids up in the morning, they are supposed to have picked up their rooms before they eat breakfast. This is supposed to be done before I come get them, but they often keep playing and don’t pick up until I tell them. At that point, I bring Joshua downstairs and get him breakfast while the other child(ren) pick up.

Here’s where the tattling comes in.

Being almost 8 months pregnant and dealing with a lot of contractions, I really can’t go up and down the stairs to check on their progress. So I send the other child up to see if the opposite one’s room is cleaned. The child checking is all too happy to report back to Mom on what is done/not done and it works out quite nicely for me!

I mentioned that to Nate today and he said “Genius.” I say it’s what us Moms do to survive – you work with what you have, right?!
