The on-call doctor this morning is equally wonderful. She came in at 8 am (not too early, so nice!) and said if I was ready, they could do the amnio right away. Of course I was ready and amnio came up to me – I didn’t even have to go down to radiology! By the time, they got everything set up, it was 9am, but I was still pretty impressed with how quickly it happened – we all know how ‘hospital time’ is.

The amnio went well. They found a good pocket of fluid and were able to get everything they needed. It was pretty painful though because our little guy decided to kick & punch the needle like crazy – he turned into a “wild kid” (doctor’s words, lol!) – and all that movement made the needle jostle around a bit which hurt. But it went well and was over soon enough. The tech also did measurements on him and Luke is weighing approx 6 lb 15 oz right now. She said that at this point, the measurements are usually a bit higher, so he might actually be smaller. It is so weird to think we might have a 6 or 7 pound baby, when my smallest was 9 lb 13 oz! I seriously do not have any newborn clothes, wow!

Results should be in within 24 hours and we’ll go from there.
