I walked into the kitchen earlier, where Nathan was doing homework, and he was telling Emily, “Now if no one buries you, you will still go to heaven!” And Emily responded, “Yep, but only if Jesus is with your heart!”
Thank You, Lord, for the reminder that my work is not in vain. (Although I must add I’m not quite sure where the burial comment came from!) And for allowing my sweet children to warm my heart when I am going through a rough spot.
As I was on my hands and knees scrubbing my kitchen cupboard a few minutes ago, once again my sweet Joshua came & hugged my back as I was scrubbing. He practically lays on me when he does this. It’s one of his favorite ways to show he loves mama. Of course he throws himself at me sometimes and nearly knocks me off balance as he gives no warning. And other times he decides to rest like this for awhile so it’s quite interesting trying to clean or finish whatever I was doing with an almost 30 pound child hanging on me, but how can I resist his sweet loving ways? I simply can’t!
And my sweet Lukey sits in his bouncy seat, grabbing at the hanging animals, bouncing and cooing and smiling and laughing and bringing us all so much joy.
Yes, I am so blessed to have the responsibility of raising these little ones for the Lord. They are not ours, but His. It’s both a daunting task to think about, but also comforting because He is in control.
