Amish Country Casserole is the perfect recipe to add to your weeknight rotation. Made with tender noodles, flavorful beef and sausage, and a creamy sauce, this dish is a crowd-pleaser that’s as easy to make as it is delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef, or turkey
  • 1/2 lb ground sweet sausage
  • 1/2 diced onion
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 (12 oz) egg noodles, or gluten-free elbow or penne noodles
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 10.5oz can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • french fried onion rings

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cook the noodles according to package directions; drain.
  2. While the noodles are cooking, brown the ground beef and sausage along the diced onion. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Stir in the salt, pepper, cream of chicken soup, and marinara sauce. Stir in the cooked, drained noodles. Mix in 1.5 cups shredded cheese. 
  3. Transfer to a 2 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup shredded cheese and french fried onion rings.
  4. Bake at 350 for 15- 20 min or until the cheese is melted. Let sit for 5 minutes and enjoy. 

Notes

Note: you can add more or less salt and pepper to taste. Adjust as you desire.
