I’m telling you, this tea is both delicious and inspiring. Have you seen this name around? Bhakti Chai? It’s popping up everywhere and for good reason.
Let me tell you the story…
Brook Eddy, the Founder and CEO, decided her love for spice-laced chai while studying a social justice movement based on “Bhakti”, or “devotion through social action.” To make a longer story short, she’s made it accessible for you and I so that we can not only enjoy the freshly pressed ginger and micro-brewed tea, but also be inspired by their Fair Trade and organic ingredients, prioritized zero waste manufacturing and devotion to supporting nonprofit organizations serving women, girls and the environment.
This company is good stuff.
I had the opportunity to try their four flavors of Ready-to-drink Iced Chai: Original, Decaf, Coffee Blend, and Semi Sweet. I love chai tea, so I really enjoyed these. I had never blended a coffee flavor with chai, so that was new for me, but I thought they went really well together. The coffee flavor is light, which helps compliment the other spices.
The original flavor is definitely my favorite. I really like the rich, fresh ginger taste and and I just love how it is served cold. Note, if you’re not a fan of ginger, this isn’t for you. It’s loaded with it.
I also love how convenient it is. It’s cold and ready for me to drink. No need to wait for anything to brew, boil, steep, or cool. Just grab it and go!
Bhakti Chai also has concentrate available for purchase. You can make your own drinks, or even add it to some delicious recipes for a fun and new twist. I haven’t tried any yet, but they have a bunch of recipes on their website here and I think it would be really fun to use them in some pancakes!
Plus, they have tons of health benefits including stimulating your mind, defending your body from colds or the flu, and many other important benefits found here. It’s also Vegan, Gluten-free, Dairy-free, and low-fat. Basically, it’s for everyone!
