Emily came to me earlier, pointed to her side, and said she had a “brain ache.” “What?!” She repeated herself and pointed again. She had bumped her side and had a little boo-boo. Ok, that’s nothing new, but a “brain ache?” I asked her where she heard that and she said “Oh Nathan told me.”
Nathan is quite the reader and has more science books than I can count.
I asked Nathan what a “brain ache” is and he said “When your head hurts.” I said “Ohhh you mean a head ache.” Nathan said “Well it’s really your brain that hurts, Mom, so that’s why I call it a brain ache.”
Technically he is correct. So now we have new terminology in our house. If you know us in real life and hear one of my kids talking about a “brain ache,” well now you know.
