A nutritious, moist, chewy granola bar square filled with oats, crispy rice and dried cranberries.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a 7×11 baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the oats, crispy rice cereal, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and dried cranberries.
  3. Mix in the vegetable oil, honey, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Using the back of a large spoon, press the mixture into the greased pan.
  5. Bake until golden brown, for 30 to 35 minutes.
  6. Cut bars while still warm (but not hot).
