I just finished my last post when Luke woke up with a fever. For newborns, you’re supposed to call in if they get a fever over 100.6, and Luke’s temp was 100.7, so I did.
Nate had taken my van into work today so there was no way I could get down to the doctor’s before they closed. At the doctor’s advice, we decided to go to the walk-in clinic, which is closer & open later. Nate got home a little while later and we took Luke’s temp again – this time it was 98.6. Three times in a row. I called our doctor back. While I was on hold, I took his temp once more and it was 99.8. (I felt like my head was going to explode by this point!) The doctor told me we didn’t need to take Luke down (what is the clinic going to do if he doesn’t have a fever?) but just to keep an eye on him. If his temp gets over 100.6, we’ll have to bring him to the ER. I am really praying that doesn’t happen. Poor baby had spit up a lot twice earlier (which is unusual for him) and was a little cranky (again unlike him) so it makes sense that he’s not feeling well.
Joshua is also sick now too. He started getting whiny this afternoon and when I finally had a chance to pin him down and take his temp, it was 100. *sigh*
Nate & I are both feeling icky. Not completely sick, but we both feel like we’re fighting something off. Nathan is the only one who is feeling normal now.
Dr O says it’s probably the flu. Yuck.
I’m just praying we all get over this quickly, especially Luke. 🙁
