My sweet little girl turned 4 years old today!
We celebrated her birthday with a small simple family party (just the 5 of us) on Saturday and it was really low-key (= stress free!) & fun!
Just before we had dinner, Nate (who had just gotten back from his business trip literally a couple hours earlier) had taken the kids out to the grocery store. While he was bringing the groceries inside – and keeping an eye on the kids, Joshua took a tumble down the 2 front steps and landed on his head on the cement path. Ouch. He was okay and got over it quickly. He sure looked banged up though! Kids usually take one not-so-pleasant tumble at some point while they are learning to walk/climb so I’m hoping this was Joshua’s one and only nasty tumble. He didn’t knock out any teeth, like Emily did when she was his age, so that’s good!
Here’s our poor little guy at dinner – he was quite happy to eat & acted like the whole incident had never happened!
Emily’s Little Mermaid birthday cake-
Joshua was very excited about some little books Emily received – he took over them immediately.
Joshua began carefully laying out the little books on one of Emily’s unopened presents-
When Emily came over to open the present finally, he was NOT very happy with her! I didn’t get a good picture of him, but he started really screeching at her. It was really funny.
Here he is, rather unhappy:
But then he felt a little better once he figured he could climb on Emily’s box and bring some books with him:
Joshua also enjoyed playing with Emily’s dollhouse, something Emily did NOT appreciate-
We quickly removed him, as it was her brand new toy and not really “toddler friendly” – certainly not for our little “Tornado!”
Later on that evening, we all sat down to watch Beauty & the Best on DVD!
I can’t believe my “baby” girl is now 4 years old! She can – and does – play with “big girl” toys now like Strawberry Shortcake sets, and Littlest Pet Shop, and Barbies! Yep, we gave her her very first Barbie! She loves it! I do have fun enjoying her enjoying her “girlie” toys!
Happy Birthday, my dear sweet Emily!
