When the whole family gets together, it’s always a challenge figuring out a way for everyone to be in the same room interacting together. There aren’t many games out there that can keep everyone’s attention focused, contain enough competition for the adults and be simple enough for the little ones. We’ve all played charades, and it can be fun, but sometimes we need to switch it up a little.
And oh, they did! Reverse Charades is a hilarious twist on charades that the whole family will enjoy. Everyone gets involved, everyone is playing the game, and each kid can get their energy out and are guaranteed to have a good time.
The basic idea of the game is that instead of your team guessing while one person acts, your team must all act together while one person guesses. I love this concept because it is hilarious to watch a group of people try to act out one word together without talking. It also makes it easier to act for those with stage fright since you get to be up on stage with your whole team!
The game comes with a box of words to act out and a sand timer. All of the words are family appropriate such as Indiana Jones, balance beam, tackle, and rowboat. There are also themed words such as the “sports edition” or the “holiday edition.” The sports edition comes with words like pitchers mound, lacrosse, water boy and soccer mom, while the holiday edition comes with words like mittens, nutcracker, seven swans-a-swimming, and Christmas tree.
We played with two families as well as a group of adults and we all had fun with it. It’s a great time and will keep everyone together and laughing. When we got together with a couple of families for a Christmas celebration, everyone was so into it and couldn’t stop laughing; everyone from age 5 to 65. It was the perfect game for the evening. I tried to get some photos, but there was just too much action, so this is how they turned out…
I mean, you can’t expect me to get some great photos with all of this fun, excitement and action going on, right?
Being together is the most important part of the holidays, but sometimes it can be the most difficult. Reverse Charades is a great way to bring the family together for some friendly competition. In fact, the box even says that the only real rule to the game is to have a blast, so you can play it however your family wants!
Reverse Charades should be played in every home!
1 lucky winner will receive Reverse Charades as well as the holiday and sports edition expansion packs!
