The second Hasbro toy we got to try out I KNEW Samuel would love! Sam already has an activity table that was a hand-me-down, and he loves to stand at it and play with the various activities. So the Playskool Rocktivity Sit to Stand Music Skool Table was a very welcome addition! Sam loves to stand, and he loves noises, so how could he not love this??
A toy that is tailored for kids ages 6-36 months, this table is jam packed with fun! It features over fifty musical activities including digitally re-created tunes like “ABC” and “Twist and Shout.” There are two modes of play: In the music mode little ones can create their very own tunes as they move around the table and play with the built-in instruments, lights, and sounds. This toy features a variety of “instruments” that allow baby to press, spin, click, and slide, encouraging dexterity and the development of fine motor skills. In the learning mode little ones can learn simple concepts such as classic shapes, primary colors, numbers, letters, and opposites. And you can choose English or Spanish for the learning mode! Although the legs can be removed for sitting play, Sam loves to stand, so we easily popped the legs on. But that is a great option for babies who are not yet standing! I love the bright colors of this activity table, and it is sure to attract most any baby!
The music mode on the Playskool Rockitivity Sit to Stand Music Skool is definitely Sam’s favorite. As he plays with the instruments he is able to “build” a tune; each musical interaction layers another musical instrument to the mix. So, when he presses a button on the guitar, the guitar is added to the music track, and then if he presses the drum, the drum beats will kick in to the tune, and so on. He has really gotten this thing going! And the best part?? I’ll ask him, “Sam, can you dance?” And he starts bobbing his precious little head and swaying or bouncing from side to side. It just doesn’t get ANY cuter than that!! There is also a microphone included that is a rattle, so your little one can shake it along to the music. Samuel hasn’t paid much attention to this apart from removing it and dropping it on the floor.
As you can guess, we love this toy!! The variety of fun music and all the buttons that can be pushed rank this one right up there among Samuel’s favorites. I believe he will find this a fun toy for quite a while as he gains more understanding about the cause and effect relationship in building his own tunes. And I’m certain to enjoy it for as long as he does!
