My sweet baby is 2 months old today!
Luke now weighs 12 lb 6 oz. That’s 4.5 lb since he was born – he is growing so fast! He’s definitely gotten more chunky in the past month too. He’s wearing 0-3 month clothes, but I put a 3-6 month outfit on him this morning and he wasn’t swimming in it, so he’ll be wearing them soon.
Luke is sleeping pretty well at night. Lately, we’ve been able to give him one last bottle at around 7 or 8 pm and then we bring him upstairs to bed. “Bed” is the Fisher Price Rock ‘n Play sleeper where he sleeps very well wrapped up in his Miracle Blanket! I heart the Miracle Blanket by the way – I’ve used it with 3 of my babies (I didn’t know about it when Nathan was a baby) and it is truly a lifesaver and a ‘miracle!’ I’ve been able to put Luke down while he’s still awake and once I turn out the light, he goes to sleep on his own. He’s so good about it. He’s been sleeping from about 8-2 or 3 am the past few nights (last night he went from 9-4!) and then he sleeps another stretch until 6 or 7 am, at which point I just get up for the day with him. As long as I get to bed at a reasonable hour (around 10 pm) I’m doing pretty well on this sleep schedule.
I still can’t marvel enough at how wonderful it is to have a ‘normal’ happy baby! It is so nice to be able to feed Luke, change him, and then put him in his bouncy seat so I can wash the dishes. He sits there very contentedly while I get a few things done. It’s so nice!
Luke has also started smiling a little more. Not a lot yet, but here and there, I’ll catch a grin. I even got a quick picture of him smiling at his swing mobile the other day-
I have my big helper – Emily – too who is very good about helping me out. Lately Luke naps in the swing for an hour or two in the morning while I do school with Nathan. During this time, Emily & Joshua play. Sometimes Luke wakes up mid-lesson and then Emily will take care of him for me – she holds him & plays with him & gives him his ‘binky.’ It is so sweet & truly helps me out. She is already such a little mommy – I’ve caught her wiping Joshua’s face off too. So cute!
We’ve continued to have a great week. I am working on getting my house cleaned and organized again and it is the best feeling. I never used to like cleaning, but now after so many months of being physically unable to do it, I am truly loving washing walls and mopping floors! It’s so satisfying!
Here’s my little guy all bundled up to go outside for a few minutes. He was so cute sitting there with his big eyes and sucking his binky.
Here’s Nathan on his 8th birthday – he picked out the weirdest colors on his birthday cake this year – he insisted he was too big for the ‘character’ cakes, even Spiderman, and wanted a “regular” cake. So he got what he wanted – a yellow & green cake! lol
Here’s my big boy & me:
And me with all 4 kids!
We gave Nathan his very first Bible for his birthday since he is such a good reader now. He’s been reading Daddy’s Bible for a couple months now and we felt he was old enough to have his own. He was so excited and has been reading it every day. He says his favorite book now is Isaiah! As a mom, it is so special to hear that and see him reading his Bible all on his own at various times!
Here’s my sweet “buggy” (as we call Joshua – I honestly can’t say how that nickname came about, lol!) He is such a happy boy!
One more of Luke, from this morning:
