I’ve tried many chicken salad recipes over the years, but this Almond Chicken Salad recipe has been my favorite for a long time.

How to Make Almond Chicken Salad

What You’ll Need:

  •  4 cups chopped, cubed chicken
  • 1.5 cups seedless grapes, halved
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 3 hard-cooked eggs, peeled and chopped
  • 1/4- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds

This recipe is pretty easy to make. Start by adding the chicken, grapes, celery, and eggs (don’t forget to hard boil and chop them first!) into a large bowl. Then gently combine them.

In another smaller bowl, combine the next 9 ingredients – mayonnaise (I use Miracle Whip), sour cream, mustard (regular yellow), salt, pepper, onion powder, celery salt, ground mustard, and paprika. Mix well.

Save the almonds until just before you serve the almond chicken salad. They taste better that way! Store in the refrigerator.

You can serve this Almond Chicken Salad however you prefer. I like to eat it over a bed of lettuce, but you can wrap it in a tortilla or serve on bread or a croissant. What’s your favorite way to enjoy chicken salad?

      Erika,
      I love your photos!
Being a vegetarian, I will make a salad without chicken. But your pictures of the whole process are simply marvelous!

Sounds good although I’m not a fan of fruit mixed in. I’d still try it if someone made it though. 🙂
I pretty much put anything into my salads except fruit! 🙂

This Chicken Salad recipe sounds super delicious. I love chicken salad with fruit, and I usually add nuts to mine, but I know that I would love it just based on the ingredients.
