Nutter Butter Ghost Cookies {Holiday Cooking with Kids}

By Amanda in Desserts

Jump to Recipe

My children are so excited about Halloween; as soon as the calendar changed to October they wanted to start celebrating.  They wear their costumes all day, every day and I just hope the costumes don’t wear out before Halloween even gets here!

Our first Halloween project this year was a favorite recipe from my childhood- Nutter Butter Ghost Cookies.  They are easy to make, requiring only three ingredients and a short amount of time.

I think peanut butter and white chocolate are the perfect flavor combination, and I have to try hard not to eat all the cookies after the kids go to bed!   These fun cookies are perfect for a class party or Halloween event, or just served as special after school snack.

Halloween Nutter Butter Ghost Cookies-2 this idea now...

Ingredients

Nutter Butter Ghost Ingredients

  • White Chocolate Candy Coating
  • Nutter Butter Cookies
  • Mini Chocolate Chips

Directions:

Melt about one cup of white chocolate candy coating as directed on the package. My favorite method is microwave melting, but using a double boiler works well too.

Nutter Butter Ghost Step1

Dip the Nutter Butter cookies into the white chocolate, one at a time.  Use a spoon to turn the cookies over until completely coated with white chocolate.Nutter Butter Ghost Step2

Gently lift out the white chocolate coated Nutter Butter, and allow the excess chocolate to drip off.  Place the coated cookie onto waxed paper.

Nutter Butter Ghost Step3

Before the white chocolate cools, add two mini-chocolate chips for the ghost’s eyes.

Nutter Butter Ghost Step4

Allow the cookies to cool for several hours until the chocolate is set.  If you want to speed up the process, place the waxed paper on a baking sheet in the refrigerator for an hour, or in the freezer for 15 minutes.  Halloween Nutter Butter Ghost Cookies

This looks like something my daughter could mix and my 4 yr. old grandson can dip and put the eyes on. I can just see his face already! 🙂 Another plus is all my children Love Nutter Butter, not the wafer but this one. Thanks for sharing!
