Apple Shape Matching Cards (Free Printable)

There are so many ways to make learning fun for kids, especially preschoolers! Today, I have a fun activity that will help young children learn and recognize shapes.

Our Apple Shape Matching Cards are so easy to put together and perfect for learning fun this fall with their apple theme.

What You’ll Need:

• cardstock or regular paper
• scissors
• laminator, optional
• laminating sheets, optional

Print out the shape matching cards. I recommend cardstock for durability and also so kids can’t see through as they play matching games! But you can do use regular paper too. I ran out of cardstock so that’s what I used.

Next, I highly recommend laminating your matching cards so they’ll last longer. This is optional though if you don’t have a laminator.

Cut out the apple matching cards. You can even have your child help you if they’re relatively good with scissors. If they need more practice, check out our free printable scissors cutting practice here.

There’s a couple ways to play with your Apple Shape Matching Cards.

Your child can simply play with them and match them together. This is great for younger preschoolers.

The other way is to play a game of memory where you turn the cards over. For even more fun, print and cut out a second set of these apple matching cards and match even more!

My 5 year old, Luke, loves his Apple Shape Matching Cards. He’s starting kindergarten soon so it’s a perfect way for him to practice his shapes. He knows the basic shapes very well, but he’s still learning what a rhombus and oval are.
