This beanless Turkey Sweet Potato Chili is absolutely delicious and a perfect healthy dinner with no beans, grains, gluten, or dairy!
You can make this easy chili recipe in either your slow cooker or on the stove; I’ll share both versions with you here today!
Beanless Turkey and Sweet Potato Chili is packed with ground turkey, vegetables, and spices and so filling and good, you won’t notice the missing beans. Plus it’s quick and easy to make; you can have dinner on the table within 45 minutes!
If you’re wondering if you can eat chili on the Paleo diet, the answer is YES!
Paleo avoids legumes (beans), grains, and processed ingredients and this Turkey Sweet Potato Chili recipe fits the bill perfectly. No grains, no legumes, no regular potatoes (which are also not Paleo-friendly, however, sweet potatoes are perfectly Paleo!)
Another thing I love about this Paleo Chili recipe is how easy it is to change the spices for a more or less spicy taste, depending on your preference. My husband and I love more spice, while our kids love mild, so sometimes I’ll make two pots (and enough to last for three nights!) To add some extra spice, you could also try my homemade taco sauce.
How do you make Beanless Turkey Sweet Potato Chili?
You can make this easy Paleo Chili recipe on the stove or in the slow cooker.
I usually prefer the stove method, since you have to brown the meat anyway, but it’s easy enough to convert to a slow cooker version.

You’ll brown the ground turkey in a large pot.
Tip: while I typically avoid excessive gadgets in my kitchen, I love my Pampered Chef ground beef chopper – it makes chopping up ground meat much faster and easier!
Then you’ll add the spices, garlic, etc.
And the sweet potatoes, carrots, celery, tomato paste, and diced tomatoes.
Then you’ll add water. You can use more or less depending on how thick you prefer your chili.
You’ll need to simmer/cook your chili for 30-45 minutes until the sweet potatoes and other veggies are tender.
Then your delicious Turkey Sweet Potato Chili is ready to serve!
Crockpot Turkey Sweet Potato Chili
For the slow cooker version of chili, you’ll brown the ground beef first then add everything to your slow cooker.
You’ll need to cook it for 4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low.
For toppings, you can add whatever you prefer. If you’re not avoiding dairy, you can use some full-fat sour cream (preferably from grass-fed cows).
Avocado is one of our favorite additions to chili, because it adds nice healthy fat.
One batch of our Beanless Turkey Sweet Potato Chili is enough for my family of six for two nights. And my kids all enjoy it too!

I haven’t been able to get the kids to try chili yet. Maybe they’d be more interested in a bean-free version like this.
