Valentine’s Day equals piles of chocolate and sweets. On top of the many cupcakes and cookies at Valentine’s Day events, my kids also end up with Valentine’s Day candy galore. They are on a sugar high for days after Valentine’s Day!
I find myself in a dilemma, I want to treat the kids for Valentine’s Day too, but don’t want to add to the sugar high.
Enter Easy Valentine’s Day Trifle recipe for kids!
This tasty treat looks festive and decadent without being full of extra sugar. With the simple, healthy ingredients of strawberries, yogurt and granola it’s perfect for a filling Valentine’s Day snack or even a great Valentine’s Day breakfast.
Make these yummy guilt-free Valentine’s Day Mini Trifles with the children in your life. It is quick, easy and best of all healthy!
Healthy Valentine’s Day Mini Trifle for Kids
- large container of your favorite greek yogurt
- granola cereal
(use gluten-free if needed)
- strawberries
- red food coloring
, optional
Hull the strawberries and cut them into slices.
If you’d like, add red food coloring to the greek yogurt, until you reach the shade of pink or red that you like. Or simply leave out for an even healthier treat for your kids!
Begin layering your Valentine’s Day Mini Trifles. Start with a layer of yogurt. Add a layer of strawberries.
Next, sprinkle granola on top of the strawberry layer.
Repeat layers until your easy valentine’s day trifle is full.
Decorate the top of the trifle with strawberries and/or granola.
