If you enjoy Disney dole whip, you’ll love this healthy homemade pineapple whip recipe! With only 3 ingredients, it takes less than 5 minutes to whip up this tasty dairy-free frozen treat. Your whole family will love it!
I made this delicious recipe as “pineapple ice cream” on a whim a few years ago and it was so tasty, we’ve made it over and over again. My whole family loves it.
Plus I love that it’s practically guilt-free because it’s made up of simply fruit and a little coconut milk. There’s no corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, or preservatives in this simple recipe. One of my kids gets hyperactive if he eats anything with high fructose corn syrup, so I look for simple clean eating recipes that are easy to make for my kids.
A few notes about this Dole whip recipe before we get to the instructions…
Is Dole Whip Dairy-Free?
Yes, this homemade version of Disney dole whip is dairy-free. It contains coconut milk and fruit – that’s it!
One of my sons is very sensitive to dairy (it triggers his asthma) and he loves this pineapple dole whip!
Is Dole Whip Vegan?
Yes, this pineapple whip recipe is vegan. There are only plant ingredients.
How to Make Pineapple Whip
Dole Whip Ingredients: banana, frozen pineapple chunks*, coconut milk (or almond or cashew milk)
Optional ingredients – grass-fed collagen peptides (for a creamier taste and added benefits), rum extract
(for more adult flavor)
*you can cut up a fresh pineapple and freeze the chunks too, but for the quickest, easiest option, just buy a bag of frozen pineapple chunks.
You won’t need an ice cream maker for this homemade dole whip, but you will need a food processor.
Put the banana, pineapple chunks, and coconut milk into your food processor.
Blend for 20-40 seconds or so (depending on how powerful your processor is). It will probably make a lot of noise and you’ll definitely want the stopper on the top to prevent anything from flying out; frozen pineapple takes power to chop up!
If you’re adding collagen peptides, add a scoop to your pineapple coconut ice cream now. If you want to add a little extra taste for adults, add 1/2 tsp rum extract or actual rum if you prefer.
Stop and scrape down the sides and blend again for a few more seconds until it’s nice and creamy.
Your healthy pineapple ice cream is ready to serve right away!
OR if you plan to serve later or would like your Dole whip recipe a little firmer, scoop into a container – I prefer a bread pan – and freeze for 1-2 hours.
If you leave your pineapple whip in the freezer overnight, you’ll need to thaw it for 20 minutes or so before you can scoop it.
Scoop and serve your delicious healthy homemade Dole Whip!
Add a chunk of pineapple on top for more juicy pineapple flavor.

Is it more pineapple tasting than banana? Not a huge banana fan but love pineapple!

It’s definitely more pineapple, Kris. The banana just adds a little more sweetness and rounded flavor.

Sure, Kaila. It won’t be quite as “healthy” but why not?
